Serpentine Joey Wong and Maggie Cheung in Tsui Hark’s brilliant Green Snake. It’s a shame that Joey Wong’s career is not what it was - I think her work in Hark-directed or produced films like Green Snake, the Chinese Ghost Story films, and the Swordsman series is wonderful, and she is one of my favorite HK actresses (not to take anything away from Maggie Cheung). I encourage anyone who’s missed it so far to check out the anamorphic Media Asia release of Green Snake, a step above for this truly beautiful film.
