If you haven’t caught Pan’s Labyrinth yet, now’s your chance to see it in the theatres. While it may not be quite as perfectly constructed as Del Toro’s The Devil’s Backbone, it comes closer than anything else he has done, and certainly Pan’s visually outdoes any of his previous works. The following article summarizes the successes, failures, and dealmaking at this year’s TIFF. The good news is that Guillermo Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat, and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Babel all went over well.
