Kamal Hassan stars in the psychological thriller Sigappu Rojakkal, a masterpiece of 70s ambiance. Despite the fashions, this is no campfest - Sigappu Rojakkal is genuinely disturbing. Our semi-regular round-up of what is new in Indian cinema.  The big news this week is the sentencing of star Sanjay Dutt to six years in prison for his illegal possession of weapons connected with terrorist bombings in 1993. I can’t say I’m a Dutt fan who will take this personally (I don’t watch the Pak-bashing action films, and recent films like Musafir and Kaante were pretty weak) , but that is some serious time.
