Look no further than this intensely angry short film that maps Toyoda’s anger about government failings during the pandemic onto the story of a samurai (an intense, excellent performance by Yosuke Kubozuka) made scapegoat for an older epidemic. Very much a spiritual successor to Harakiri, and with a funky Noh-meets-noise rock score.
