![]() Daily Variety is reporting today that Johnnie To’s latest film Exiled has been set up for a Hollywood remake. Media Asia brokered the deal with Samuel Hadida, who is attached as a producer. Hadida’s past work includes Domino and Silent Hill, and he is currently in post-production on Resident Evil: Extinction. As of now, it appears no other cast or crew for the remake have been announced. Media Asia is undoubtedly still riding high from having set up the remake for Infernal Affairs, which resulted in Martin Scorsese’s The Departed and a host of Academy Awards. Last month Media Asia sold remake rights of Confessions of Pain to Warner Brothers. Exiled is screening tonight at AFI Dallas (www.afidallas.com). I would definitely show up earlier than usual since the film is screening at the Magnolia. In a perfect world they would have screened this film as a double feature with Paprika instead of forcing people to choose between both films (as they are playing only once this fest and at the same exact time).

well i dont like this idea of remaking these films cause the “departed” was a bad remake and got nothing to do with the original film!
